Past Events

The Friends of Allandale Station Park have held peaceful rallys at Barrie City Hall, silent rallys at Barrie Council meetings, and volunteers have been participating with weekly roadway sign rallys at Allandale Station Park along Lakeshore Drive in Barrie. The most recent silent rally at Barrie City Hall included being in attendance for the public release of a Report titled, Southshore, Barrie Sports and a Revitalized Downtown completed by Marshall Green for the Mayor, Barrie City Council and the Citizens of Barrie.

The City of Barrie wants to hear from residents about the future of the downtown and waterfront. On August 14, 2024, Marshall Green provided a report to Barrie City Council, The Southshore, Barrie Sports and a Revitalized Downtown. Mr. Green was asked to gather information about the parade ground and multi-use sports field and report back to Council with feedback from various stakeholder groups/organizations and to summarize their position to help guide the waterfront and downtown vision.

Marshall Green’s report outlines several recommendations, and City Council wants to hear what the public thinks. To provide your feedback:

Take a survey.  (The survey is now closed)
 

Attend an in-person drop-in consultation will take place Tuesday, September 24 from 4 to 8 p.m.at the General John Hayter Southshore Centre. At the drop-in session, staff will be asking residents for feedback on the same questions from the online survey.
